Update on Hurricane Wilma

Hurricane Wilma has continued to gain momentum and has come ashore on Mexico’s Gulf Coast, punishing the island resorts and threatening thousands of residents and tourists as it moves through the coastal cities.  The storm is expected to sustain winds of more than 140 miles an hour as it crosses the coastline before turning east to Florida.  Wilma’s eyewall has slammed into Cozumel and Cancun and is expected to continue along the Yucatan Peninsula before sideswiping Cuba on its way toward Florida.

The National Hurricane Center (NHC) expects Wilma to regain Category 5 (winds greater than 155 mph) strength before weakening as it crosses the Gulf. The NHC expects Wilma will strike Florida as a Category 3 (winds 111-130 mph) or Category 2 (winds 96-110 mph) storm.  Mandatory evacuation orders have been ordered in parts of Florida in anticipation of the effects of Hurricane Wilma.  Affected areas include the Keys, parts of Naples and Marco Island.

AIReS expects that Wilma will have an enormous impact on the Southeastern United States, including those residents still reeling from the aftermath of Hurricanes Katrina and Rita earlier this year.  AIReS is prepared to deal with any and every situation that may arise as a result of this newest threat.  When Rita hit and prompted the mandatory evacuation of Houston and the subsequent temporary closing of our GCRO, AIReS sprang into action to ensure that every client and transferee serviced by this office would be taken care of throughout this critical time period.  Using our state-of-the-art proprietary technology, we redistributed every GCRO client and transferee file to our other offices.  Selected personnel in other AIReS offices were able to seamlessly continue with every relocation service handled by the GCRO.

This file reassignment happened within a matter of hours, before the office had even been closed.   We were able to ensure that every client was proactively managed and have not experienced any interruption in service delivery.  This immediate transfer of responsibility throughout our offices is just one example of AIReS’ ongoing commitment to providing world class quality service to all of our clients, regardless of the situation.

AIReS will continue to release updates as Hurricane Wilma progresses.  Should drastic actions such as office closings or related actions become necessary, we will utilize our resources to ensure that no clients experience interruptions in service quality.  We also will stay in close contact with every client and transferee affected by the storm and its aftermath to ensure that everyone is safe and has the resources they need to deal with this critical time period.
